jayme | maternity photography windsor

a couple of years ago, a new photographer moved to town.

always happy to make new friends (and since i loved her work) i emailed her. a few emails later this lovely lady, wearing a fun hat and carrying her little boy, showed up at my house to purchase my PC version of Photoshop (since i had just bought my first Mac).

that was the beginning of our friendship, and i can truly say that i am blessed to have such a wonderful friend.

Jayme is a local wedding photographer (just like yours truly) and has become someone that is near and dear to my heart. we love sharing stories and hearing about each other’s adventures in life, and would love nothing more than to live next door to each other (even though i’m pretty sure we’d never get any work done if that were the case). we are not that different in age (well, i think it’s 6 years or something) but we are at totally different stages in life, so i get to enjoy watching her little ones grow up and she gets to see me have fun with teenagers. it’s all good.

i was blessed to have been able to document Jayme’s baby bump last month, and i’m thrilled to tell you that she now holds a beautiful little boy in her arms. he’s the sweetest thing and will make a wonderful addition to the family.

true friends don’t come around every day, but i’m thankful for the ones that do, and especially for the ones that ask me to do some family and maternity photos for them. it was an honour.

janice & roy | langdon hall wedding, cambridge

it was December 30th.

it was foggy and damp.

it was the day that Janice & Roy got married.

i drove to Cambridge, not knowing what to expect when i arrived at Langdon Hall. i cannot describe how i felt as i drove through the gates and heading towards to main house. i think my mouth hung agape for a while, but i recomposed myself when the valet helped me to the front door. Langdon Hall is a drop-dead gorgeous, jaw-dropping, goose-bum inducing venue for a wedding. i don’t kid about such things.

it was an intimate affair, with only 12 people (including the bride and groom), and it was exactly the wedding that Janice and Roy envisioned for themselves.

a lovely ceremony in the conservatory as the sun was setting, and a beautiful dinner in the formal dining room, right in front of a fireplace.

i want to thank Janice and Roy for allowing me into their lives for a brief moment. your family welcomed me with open arms, and it was a wedding i will not soon forget.

here’s their wedding story as told by me.

things to come….. Janice & Roy got married

i’m so sorry that i’ve been absent for quite a while. i promise that i haven’t fallen off a cliff or anything, but some days it was close to it!

after what has been some of the most insane two months of my life, i am hunkered down and ready to blog some SERIOUS photos!

a family session, a wedding, highlights of 2011, my cruise, an engagement session AND a maternity session! yes, all those things will be hitting the blog very soon. in the meantime, i would like to give you a preview of Janice & Roy’s wedding, which took place on Dec.30th and was my last wedding of 2011. it took place at Langdon Hall in Cambridge, and was the sweetest little wedding ever (when i say little, i mean little! as in 12 people)

in the next two weeks, your mind will be blown with all my blogging, but for now, you get a little eye candy.

tamara & costin | st.clair centre wedding windsor

the day that i met Costin and Tamara, we met at Taloola and i sat in a broken chair, trying to look professional, not tip over or fall over during our meeting.

thankfully, they hired me anyways.

what do you think happens when you mix a groom that performs (on occasion) with Second City in Toronto, and a bride that has a sense of humour that’s just as fabulous?

you get a wedding where the photographer laughs all the time. it’s a win/win situation.

Tamara and Costin live in Toronto, but their roots are here in Windsor and they came together with their family and friends to celebrate their love and joy as they became a family of their own. i know i’ve said it before, but i’ll say it again…… marriage is the best thing ever.

this beautiful fall wedding was my last of this crazy, busy and insanely fun season.

i want to thank Tamara & Costin for allowing me into their lives, for making me laugh, and for trusting me to document the beginning of the rest of their lives together.

laurendeau family | just one

this is the second year in a row that i’ve had the honour of photographing this adorable family.

love them all.

as you can tell by the following photograph these four don’t mind showing me their true colours.

that’s ok. i probably stuck my tongue right back at them.

i can be an instigator sometimes.

more photos coming soon (with sweet and adorable faces. i promise)
