happy ‘almost’ anniversary to Darlene & Adam!

i am starting to gear up for this season’s upcoming weddings, and realized that it’s almost Darlene & Adam’s 1st anniversary! YAY!!

their wedding was my first wedding of the season in 2011, and it was an adventure with border crossings, an ice cream parlour and a lion dance. i was honoured to be a part of their wonderful day.

here are a couple of my fav photos from their wedding, but if you want to check out the entire set of photos from their wedding, then just head HERE to check them out.

happy ‘almost’ anniversary to a super duper couple and i pray that you have many more wonderful years ahead of you. cheers!

We love Darlene! Ruby really loves Darlene and misses her! I love this wedding and the engagement session.

a little bit of what i’ve been up to these days ~ shower invitations

these last few months have been a nice break from my normal routine, which has meant that i have brought out some art supplies and got busy with some projects for my daughter’s wedding.

i am planning and throwing a bridal shower for my lovely girl next month, and i decided waaaaaaayyyy back a few months ago that i needed to make her some custom designed invitations. i am that crazy person that always thinks that making things from scratch is way better than buying something, then i realize how much work i need to put forth and curse myself for not buying pre-made things at Walmart. oh well…. this was for a good cause and gave me an excuse to pull out my watercolours and fall in love with painting all over again. i have too long neglected my love of painting. it’s time to remedy that.

here is the fun invitation i painted and lettered by hand. as you can tell, i like pink.

featured ~ Sash & Satin

i just wanted to share some exciting news with you all! i was featured on Sash & Satin last week, and that makes me smile.

they featured this wedding from last summer http://michelebowmanweddings.com/?p=2040 . Amy & Manuel got married here in Kingsville, and it was just a fabulous wedding.

i am so flattered that Sash & Satin emailed me and asked to not only feature this wedding, but to also be a listed vendor on their website. i look forward to hearing from some fun couples that find me on their blog.

check out the link to the feature HERE

here’s one of my favourite photos from this great wedding

windsor child & family photographer | breakfast with the Lee family

across the street from where i live, there is a grey house. in that grey house lives the Lee family.

two parents, two kids and lots of insanity.

John and Carol were the first neighbours that we got to know upon our arrival in Kingsville about 10 years ago. they are the best neighbours EVER!!  they don’t throw loud parties, they let us dump our yard waste over their cliff, they let me supply them with baked goods when i’m in the mood to pawn off sugary treats, and they have two of the cutest boys in the whole wide world. i’m referred to as Miss Michele when i visit, and not only do Jackson and Sam act crazy for me, they let me chase them around and give me hugs.

i like hugs.

i have been photographing these two boys their whole lives, but this time around i wanted to try something a little different.

i asked myself to breakfast and the boys made me waffles!

i think i’m in love with photographing families just being themselves. yep…. that’s where the memories are.

now, here is the funniest photo from the day. it pretty much sums up what happens when you have two excited kids and a fun breakfast. sorry Carol, i just HAD to post this one!

What a great lifestyle session! Love it!

John - March 6, 2012 - 6:58 pm

I can’t believe how you took that little period of insanity and made it look so wonderful.

Now.

Let’s discuss what’ll be necessary to shoop that last picture. It’s so close to being perfect. Can you make my expression more like Carol’s?

a little road trip …..Bianca & Kyle in Guelph

definition :charm quark~

A quark with a charge of + 2/3 and a charm of +1. Its mass is greater than that of the electron and greater than that of the up quark, down quark, and strange quark, but less than that of the bottom quark and top quark. Also called charmed quark.

a couple of weeks ago, i packed up my camera gear and took to the road. my final destination was Guelph.

it was time for Bianca and Kyle’s engagement session. i got to hang out for the day with a Nuclear Physicist and a Marine Biologist. it was fabulous.

fun fact # 302 about Michele (me) ~ i am a science nerd at heart. i have memorized a good chunk for the periodic table, and i took university chemistry and biology courses a couple of years ago, just for the fun of it. yep, i adore science and always have.

did these two lovebirds put their personalities out there during our time together? yep.

did i get to hang out with a couple of science nerds? yep.

did i get to photograph the first engagement session ever done in the Physics Department at the University of Guelph? probably.

it will be early this fall when Kyle & Bianca take to the road themselves and head to Windsor for their nuptials, but until then they will plan the big day just a few hours down the 401.  until then, here are Bianca and Kyle in Guelph.

Jonathan Dear - February 12, 2012 - 3:08 am

I love the whole feel of this shoot. You went for a lifestyle angle and it really suits this couple. I imagined I spent the day with them doing things they love to do together. Truly precious memories that have meaning.

I like the originality of doing photos in a library I don’t think I’ve seen an engagement shoot done in a location like that before.. very cool. Great light in some of those winter photos outside as well. Well done with this shoot!

Darin Collison - February 12, 2012 - 6:10 pm
