ever since they were born, my daughter Emilie has been best friends with Bethany. it’s a friendship made in heaven.
these two were inseparable as babies and toddlers, playing for hours and hours. it helped that Bethany’s mother is one of my best friends in the whole world.
unfortunately, these two young ladies haven’t lived close to each other for 13 years, living hours apart and not getting the chance to visit often. amazingly, they have remained best friends and made a pact as children that they would both serve as each other’s maid of honour when the time came. they still hold fast to that promise all these years later.
at 18 years old, these two cuties are both heading off to university in the fall, but i know that this is a friendship that will never die and will remain strong to the end of the ages. distance couldn’t tear these two apart yet, and i have a feeling that all the adventures of adulthood (and the fact that they will both have their own transportation one day) will bring them closer together.
this past weekend our friends came for a visit, and Emilie was again reunited with her dearest and oldest friend.
of course, a photo session was in order and we took a few minutes to have some fun outdoors.
